Two Things We’ve Learned about each NBA Team a Week into the Season

Indiana Pacers:

• Paul George is a top 5 player in the NBA
• Lance Stephenson is more valuable than George Hill

Philadelphia 76ers:

• They AREN’T the worst team in the league!
• Michael Carter-Williams is a star

Toronto Raptors:

• DeMar DeRozan and Rudy Gay are a deadly duo
• Landry Fields is starting to show that he deserves his huge contract

Atlanta Hawks:

• They did the right thing by matching Milwaukee’s contract sheet to Jeff Teague
• Al Horford just may be the best center in the league, besides Dwight Howard and Marc Gasol

Detroit Pistons:

• J-Smoove is back!
• Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe are rebounding machines

New York Knicks:

• Carmelo Anthony isn’t very clutch anymore
• Andrea Bargnani is not the answer at PF

Brooklyn Nets:

• Paul Pierce is still a great scoring threat
• Brook Lopez is on the level of Serge Ibaka and Larry Sanders, when it comes to blocking

Charlotte Bobcats:

• Gerald Henderson and Kemba Walker form a pretty solid backcourt duo
• Al Jefferson was a great signing

Miami Heat:

• LeBron James is one of, if not the most clutch player in the NBA
• Chris Bosh is still really, really good (he just can’t miss a free throw when he needs to!)

Cleveland Cavaliers:

• Andrew Bynum is recovering and improving, slowly but surely
• Kyrie Irving has become more of a pass-first guard

Chicago Bulls:

• Derrick Rose isn’t “Derrick Rose”- at least not yet
• Jimmy Butler is an elite defender in the NBA

Milwaukee Bucks:

• They, not the Suns or 76ers, are the worst team in the NBA
• Nate Wolters was an excellent value pick in this year’s draft

Orlando Magic:

• This team is very, very good at scoring- they have six guys averaging double-digit points
• Arron Afflalo has picked up right where he left off last season

Boston Celtics:

• They really, really miss Rajon Rondo
• Vitor Faverani is a great addition to this team, and a serious contender for Rookie of the Year

Washington Wizards:

• Adding Marcin Gortat was a great idea for this team
• Even with the growth of John Wall and Bradley Beal, they’re still the same old Wizards

Houston Rockets:

• Dwight Howard has become more of a rebounder and defender, and less of a scorer
• After being moved to the bench, Jeremy Lin is starting to remind us what “Linsanity” was all about

Phoenix Suns:

• The Goran Dragic- Eric Bledsoe backcourt has the potential to be really, really scary
• Miles Plumlee is the real deal

Minnesota Timberwolves:

• Kevin Love is back and better than ever
• With 7 guys averaging double-digit points, this team also knows how to score really well

LA Clippers:

• The guard situation of CP3, Jamal Crawford, JJ Redick, and Darren Collison is really good
• Blake Griffin is proving that he’s more than just a dunker

Portland Trail Blazers:

• LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard are even better than we remember
• Mo Williams and Robin Lopez were great additions for this team

San Antonio Spurs:

• Danny Green has taken a tremendous step back after his great postseason
• Manu Ginobili is turning back time, and performing like it’s 2009

Golden State Warriors:

• Is Klay Thompson a better scorer than Steph Curry and David Lee?
• Stephen Curry has improved his passing by leaps and bounds

Dallas Mavericks:

• Jose Calderon has embraced his role as a straight-forward passer (taking away his scoring game)
• Shawn Marion is not done quite yet

Oklahoma City Thunder:

• Is Serge Ibaka still the world-class blocker that he once was?
• Kevin Durant is, far and away, the best scorer in the NBA

LA Lakers:

• They’re really missing Kobe Bryant
• Xavier Henry has a whole lot of potential

Sacramento Kings:

• Even though he’s no longer starting, Isaiah Thomas still has a huge impact
• DeMarcus Cousins is a really good defender

Memphis Grizzlies:

• Mike Conley is one of the best point guards in the NBA
• Quincy Pondexter just got overpaid bigtime!

New Orleans Pelicans:

• Who is Tyreke Evans?
• Anthony Davis is the real deal

Denver Nuggets:

• JJ Hickson has a much bigger impact than Javale McGee
• Their point guard trio of Nate Robinson, Ty Lawson, and Andre Miller is absolutely insane

Utah Jazz:

• Alec Burks has emerged as a very good scorer
• Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors form a great backcourt duo
